Howard County Public Schools Still In session

0 ความคิดเห็น
Howard County’s public schools have been closed up early for the day because of the snowstorm that has hit the area; this is the first major snowstorm of the winter season.
It has left roads dangerous to travel enough, significantly enough for the National Weather Service to deem it necessary to issue an advisory warning to the County and places nearby, including Prince William County. It is believed the snowstorm will leave a blanket of snow up to three inches thick. By the evening, things will be a little calmer.
Despite the storm, the Howard County public schools and Prince William County public schools will not be closed completely. Students are still expected to report to their classrooms at the usual time, though they may be sent home early again.
However, for the time being, the after-school programs presented by the schools will be suspended. In addition, the Board of Education meeting scheduled will be rescheduled. In the same county, the Human Rights Commission will also be canceling their meeting due to weather conditions. If the weather becomes severe enough, the county will send out trucks to help remove snow from the roads.
While many are looking for weather conditions, they are searching for WTOP.  The WTOP radio station is located on the radio at 103.5FM. Its online web page provides up to the minute information about weather in the D.C. area, including the state of its schools.
There is some criticism arising from the decision to send students home early. Residents can turn to WTOP for increasing information. An alternative radio station to turn to is WBAL.
